EDUCATION A student of Rakai Primary School and Kings College, Buddo (O’level), Ezra transferred to Ntare High School for A'level studies on a full scholarship before being accepted to Cal-Tech Institute of Technology (CIT) in California, USA for his grad- and post-graduate studies. Along the way he transferred to Oxford University in the UK where he completed his PhD in Theoretical Physics with a specialty in Quantum Mechanics. Professor Mugambe understood the value of education and helped many to realise their dreams of education, as he himself did.
CAREER The Mugambe Science Foundation was established in memory of Professor Mugambe, whose life and career touched many. Although Ezra had many offers to work abroad, he chose to return to Uganda to make a meaningful contribution to his country. On his return, Professor Mugambe joined Makerere University where he taught physics to generations of Ugandans. This page is a tribute for those who want to know more about this great man.

Professor Mugambe was born on 20 April 1940 to Zidoni Kibaale and Lydia Nakigona Kibaale in Byakabanda, Rakai District. Ezra, the last born of 4 children, grew up in a strongly united family founded on Christian values. His siblings were:
